Pix Pâtisserie is a little window to Europe that landed in Portland, Oregon in 2001 offering a casual dining space with a focus on French desserts. Bar Vivant shares the same space and brings a savory side in the form of Spanish pintxos, as well as a selection of some of the best conservas from Spain. Pix Pâtisserie / Bar Vivant offers a wine list with a focus on small producers that push the boundaries to make exciting and exceptional wine. Over the past couple of years Pix Pâtisserie / Bar Vivant has acquired many single vineyard champagnes. These wines offer a unique experience to taste the different terroirs in the champagne region, which in the past were almost always blended away. The wine list showcases about 1,500 selections, including over 750 champagnes in formats ranging from demi bottles to methuselahs, a remarkable range of over 190 sherries and a notable collection of dessert wines, including madeiras dating back to 1907. Their approach is always to create a list that is accessible and affordable, with the aim that customers can enjoy a great glass and have an opportunity to try something new and unique to them, all while staying in their price range, whatever it may be. Plus, full disclosure, with disgorgement dates on champagnes and bottling dates on sherries, ports and madeiras is offered where possible. As a previous winner of Wine List of the Year, Pix Pâtisserie competes in the Champions’ League.
