FermentAsian

Based in Tanunda, South Australia, fermentAsian is an award-winning Vietnamese restaurant created by chef owner Tuoi Do. The food at FermentAsian has its roots firmly entrenched in Tuio’s Vietnamese heritage and that of her parents who arrived in the Barossa Valley in March 2010. Tuio believes in supporting local producers especially those producers who share her ethical beliefs. Many of the vegetables and herbs that are intrinsic to Vietnamese cuisine and that feature in the menu,particularly the pungent herbs, come from her family’s home gardens. The restaurant offers a Chef’s Table menu as well as an a la Carte menu. The wine list is innovative and noted as serving ‘as a beacon to pilgrims of the palate whose questing brings them to the Barossa in search of vinous exploration, evocation and education.’ The list is instructive and offers a wide scope and diversity of international wines as well as featuring those from the surrounding Barossa region.
