To simplify:  a good wine pairing should be able to enhance the food you are consuming, amplify your pleasure, by simultaneously urging you to keep tasting so as you discover more flavours unknown to your palate yet.

Our Around Wine concept starts with a warm welcome in the
Blue Penny Cellar by our sommelier followed by a brief explanation of the menu.

You can either choose the classic approach whereby you choose your dish and wine or dare to go for
Around Wine option which means you just pick your wine for Starter, Main & Dessert and our sommelier/chef will suggest you the perfect complementing dish!

For your information, you will have three different wines( by the glass) for Starter, three different wines( by the glass ) for the Main course, two different wines( by the glass) for Cheese and two different wines by the glass for dessert.

The wine cellar has over 275,000 bottles with over 5000 selections from 23 countries, acquired over decades by Graycliff’s owner and CEO, Enrico Garzaroli. He is passionate about the quality of the wines he seeks out and carefully adds to his collection, which is the 3rd largest private collection in the world.

A wine connoisseur’s dream with some of the rarest vintages in store, the cellar’s inventory ranges from such wines as an 1865 Château Lafite, to the oldest and one of the most expensive bottles in the world, a 1727 Rudesheimer Apostelwein from Bremer Ratskeller in the ”Rheinghau” Region, priced at US$200,000, to today’s most popular vintages.

In addition to the considerable wine inventory, Graycliff also boasts a Cognacteque, a unique collection of Cognacs, Armagnacs, Whiskey, Rum and more – one of the largest such collections in the world. The Cognacteque and Wine Cellar are constantly expanding as the CEO makes new finds to add to his collection.

If you love wine, you will have a story to tell after visiting Wunderbrunnen.
Our restaurant’s food philosophy – honored with 14 Gault Millau points, as well as several other awards – perfectly embodies the balancing act between gourmet cuisine and down-to-earth regional flair. In addition to the à-la-carte-selection, our guests can also opt for the ‘Wunderbrunnen Menu’, which includes a choice of three to six courses.

Offering more than 130 wines by the glass certainly leaves hardly anything to be desired.

However, Wunderbrunnen’s great icon is and remains the ever-growing Reserve Wine List, which is unique in Switzerland, not only due to its scope of currently 5815 positions. The list is available to our guests in a printed version, as well as digitally on tablets, featuring interactive navigation via the linked content table.

Represented by more than 2000 wines, Bordeaux remains our core competence. Substantial parts of the selection are also dedicated to Burgundy and Switzerland – both categories represented by roughly 750 wines each. In 2023, nearly 300 positions have been added to our list. This growth has been focused mostly on Italy, Spain and Germany.
